Ajanta Hospital & IVF Centre is a multispecialty private hospital in Lucknow, the capital of state Uttar Pradesh in India. The hospital is owned by Dr. Anil Khanna[1] (Laparoscopic Surgery Specialist) and his wife Dr. Gita Khanna[2] (Gynaecologist & IVF Specialist). The hospital was established in 2002 at Alambagh, one of the most populated areas in Lucknow.[3]
Services[edit]
The hospital has a department for the treatment of infertility[4] including Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI), In Vitro Fertilisation (IVF),Laparoscopy, Cryopreservation, Hysteroscopy, and assisted hatching.
Other services include cardiology, surrogacy, treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOD), urogynaecology, oncogynaecology, spinal surgery, orthopedic surgery, plastic and reconstructive surgery, and a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU).
The infertility department is headed by Dr. Gita Khanna who happens to the be the first IVF specialist in Lucknow to give birth to a baby using the IVF technique[5].
Ajanta Hope Society of Human Reproduction & Research (AHHR) is an initiative by the healthcare centre under the aegis of Indian Fertility Society (IFS).[6] It organizes infertility seminars with infertility specialists on a regular basis.[7][8]
Events and Activities[edit]
Ajanta Hospital & IVF Centre[9] regularly organizes various health events and activities regularly. For instance, 'Walkathon 2019- A Marathon For The Kidney Health'[10] organized by the healthcare centre on World Kidney Day 2019 brought over 1500 people from all over Lucknow to take part in the event.
Ajanta Hospital & IVF Centre organized a Free Health Checkup Camp[11] on the World Health Day 2019 in the hospital premises. The camp was graced by notaries and common people from all over the world, with specialists from every department of the hospital offering free health checkup and health tips to every person that came to be a part. This three-hour event saw hundreds of people getting healthcare assistance from the experts at absolutely no costs.
