Ajay Chitkara (aged 47) is an Indian Business executive, currently the Director and CEO - Global Voice and Data Business of Bharti Airtel, an Indian multinational telecommunications services company, the third largest mobile operator in the world, with operations in 20 countries.[1]

Ajay has a master's degree in electronics and telecommunications and an MBA from Institute of Management Technology, Ghaziabad.

Career[edit]

Ajay Chitkara joined Bharti Airtel in May 2001 from Comsat Max where he was a Sales Manager. Chitkara has been credited with building Airtel’s brand in Global arena, taking Airtel network to reach more than 50 countries through submarine and terrestrial medium. He has successfully positioned India as an important transit services hub of data and voice business in the region with Airtel as an undisputed leader in this space.

Ajay was chosen by the readers of Global Telecom Business published from UK, as one of the 40 most impressive leaders of the telecom industry under the age of 40 in 2011.[2] In 2013 Chitkara was ranked 51st among the most powerful and influential executives in the Telecommunications Industry by GTB Power100.[3]
