Ajay Hooda अजय हुड्डा is an Indian actor and model. He kickstarted his television career from the youth reality show MTV Roadies X2 in which he was a popular member of Karan Kundra's Gang. Followed by MTV Love School in 2016. Currently he is working as an actor in Hema Malini Theatre Group (Natya Vihar Kala Kendra) in the popular show Draupadi, in which veteran Bollywood actress Hema Malini plays the main lead. Hooda also has his channel on Youtube which is titled iCASH.[1]
Early life and background
Ajay Hooda was born on 19 February in Rohtak, Haryana, India, to Lt. Ranbir Hooda (a Thekedar/farmer) and mother Rajbala who is a homemaker. He has an elder brother Mr. Vijay Hooda, a Canada-trained nutritionist, and a younger sister Indu Hooda, an MBA living with her family in Chandigarh.
Hooda belongs to a Jat family. He was educated at Shri Baba Mast Nath Public School (SMPS),[2][3] a day boarding school in Rohtak, Haryana, where he participated in baseball and equestrian sports and won medals at the national level. Hooda later developed an interest in acting and participated in school productions. In an interview with realitypost.in,[4] he said he enjoyed appearing in front of people. However, his family wanted him to become an engineer, for that he was transferred to Canada for higher studies.
After completing his schooling, Hooda moved to Toronto, Canada, in 2003, where he studied at Ryerson University for a bachelor's degree in hospitality and a master's degree in business management. During that period, he worked in a Mughlai restaurant, a car wash, as a waiter and for two years as a truck driver. In 2014, Hooda returned to India and worked in the IT department at Dell Gurgaon.
Later in September 2014 he moved to Chandigarh and started his new business venture NEULIFE,[5] a health supplement store. He subsequently started modelling and working in amateur theatre in Delhi. While running his business he auditioned for the popular MTV reality show Roadies and appeared on MTV Roadies X2 (2015). Later in 2016 He appeared in another reality show MTV Love School.
Personal life
Hooda lived in a hostel from a young age; he said, "I've always had a good time, it's something that gives me my spirit and fuels my spirit as well. Now, I want my parents to live with me, I want to enjoy their company more". He said he has a good relationship with his parents, especially his father, who passed away two years ago from cancer, and his mother who live in Chandigarh. He is thankful for their openness to everything which has helped him in life.
He considers Vijay Hooda (elder brother) to be his "mentor, friend and confidant", saying, "he is an inspiration and somebody who has helped nurture me as a person I am today and Prince Narula (Big Boss 9 winner) who has helped me a lot as an actor, not necessarily my career but my craft and dedication. He's also the one who opened my eyes to the world of acting."
