Ajay Kr Dey
Ajay Kr Dey (born September 22, 1992), also known by the pen name (bhanita) Pranabanandan, is an Indian scholar, researcher, and author based in Murshidabad, West Bengal. He is known for his research on Gaudiya Vaishnava hagiography and the intellectual history of Nabadwip.
Early life and education
Dey graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Sripat Singh College, affiliated with the University of Kalyani, in 2014. He also holds an Advanced Diploma in Information Technology Application (2016) from the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education.
Career
Professional career
Dey is a professional chemist currently serving with the Kaira District Co-operative Milk Producers’ Union Ltd (Amul Dairy) in Murshidabad within Quality Assurance. He previously served as a Data Entry Operator for the West Bengal Government at the Berhampore Block Development Office (2014–2015).
Literary and research work
Writing as "Pranabanandan," Dey's work focuses on the synthesis of traditional Bhakti devotion with modern intellectual inquiry. He belongs to the spiritual lineage of Srila Nayananda Goswami. His research areas include:
- The life of Srila Gadadhara Pandita Goswami.
- The history of Sripat Bharatpur and Vaishnava Padavali.
- Navya-Nyāya (New Logic) and the historical "Tol" educational system of Bengal.
Dey is also recognized by the Government of West Bengal as a folk artist under the Lokprasar Prakalpa scheme.
