Akanksha Khatri[1] is the 1st finalist of MasterChef India (season 6) (2019). She was the winner of the digital show India's Digital Chef (2018)[2] [3] [4] and runner-up of another digital show Femme Foodies (2017). She was a flight attendant who quit her job to participate in the sixth season of MasterChef India (2019).[1]
Early life
Born on 27 February 1987 in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh to Umesh Kumar Khatri and Rita Khatri, Akanksha is their only child. She did her schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya, Mirzapur and finished her higher education in Delhi. She is also passionate about art, travel, fashion, lifestyle and history.
Career
At the age of 21, Akanksha moved to Oman after taking a job with Oman Air as premium galley crew. She was living alone and cooking meals for herself led her to leave the job and pursue a career in culinary. Akanksha was selected in the Top 15 to contest MasterChef India in 2019[5] Her skills of tasting ingredients resulted in her being in the top 5 finalists. She was the first to have the maximum number of dishes on the Grand Dish Wall. Akanksha was also in the top 3 for invention tests on two occasions, winning them both. Her dishes were the most tasted in the competition.
