Akash Deo (Er. Akash Deo, born 22 December 1992) is a Nepalese Youth Science Activist. He promotes the term youth science activist after his dedication to science and promoting science among the youth in Nepal. He has participated and represented Nepal in many international events and has received 28 awards at national and international level due to his dedication to science.[4][5] He has six research publications in different journals and conference proceedings and has been continuously working to promote science for youth.
Early life
He finished his first level of education at Model Public Secondary School and secondary level at Orchid Higher Secondary School, both in Nepal. Before getting a scholarship to study at AIET, Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh in India, he studied physics for one year at Mahendra Morang Adarsh Multiple Campus, Tribhuvan University. He completed his undergraduate level in Mechanical Engineering in April 2015.
Early movement
His first international experience representing Nepal as a young scientist at Asian Science Camp 2011 in Daejon, South Korea [6] built a significant level of spirit for him to dedicate his dream as a scientist. Having the opportunity to meet Nobel Prize laureates and many scientists at that time gave him insight into the life and future of science. He started his productive and innovative research on science after this moment. After his participation in many international events, he realised that there are many participants from other countries but Nepali representatives are very rare. On the other hand, he also saw that there is not enough platform and medium to facilitate and bridge young people to the broader opportunities in science and development. That factual status-quo encouraged him to start promoting science among the youth in Nepal. He began by giving talks at many events, until he finally established his own organisation, Brainycube Research Organization in 2014.

Works
He has six research publications[8] in different journals [9] and conference proceedings. He presented his research at more than 30 conferences and was selected for best paper more than 20 times. He has been continuously working on different research projects in different labs and research centres including Surface Chemistry Lab, MMAMC, Tribhuvan University, Institute of Applied Sciences, Kathmandu University, Kathmandu Institute of Applied Sciences, and Biotechnology Lab of Nashik College, Nashik, India.
On promoting science, he has given more than 50 talks as a guest speaker. In 2014 he established Brainycube Research Organization as a platform to provide and connect young scientists to broader opportunities and collaboration. Brainycube’s first big event was the Global Workshop on Recent Research Techniques held in collaboration with the Department of Chemistry, M.M.A.M.C., Biratnagar. In 2015 he started a partnership with iLeaD UI Institute of Leadership Development University of Indonesia for further connection and broader networking of Brainycube Research Organization. He also built a strong connection to the Center for Young Scientist in Indonesia after being invited as a judge and speaker at APCYS (Asia Pacific Conference of Young Scientist) 2015.
At the beginning of 2016 he was invited to become the youngest member of the steering committee for APCYS 2016 which will be held in July in New Delhi, India.[10] To encourage the participation of Nepali Young Scientists at the conference he is arranging national events entitled Young Scientist Summit 2016[11][12] which was held on June 3–4, 2016 in Kathmandu.
