Akinlolu Jikiemi popularly known as Akinlolu Jekins is a British Nigerian born talent manager and show promoter based in the UK. Since he commenced in 2009, Akinlolu Jekins has exclusively produced and promoted over 200 events and tours in UK for a wide array of some of the most recognized music and comedy talents in Africa,[1] which include; GMA Dove Award and BMI Award winner Sinach,[2] Ali Baba,[3] Tope Alabi,[4] Tim Godfrey, Sammie Okposo, Julius Agwu, Kenny Blaq, MC Lively, Akpororo, Seyi Law, Helen Paul, Okey Bakassi, Onos Ariyo, IGoDye,[5] IGoSave, Korede Bello, Reminisce, Humblesmith, Woli Arole, Yaw, Funny bone, Dan D Humorous, MC Abbey, Mr Patrick, Eldee Kenyan Eric Omondi, Uganda's Patrick Salvador, South African Chris Mapane and Pencil Comedian.[6][7] He is described as the biggest exporter of the Nigerian creative industry to the UK [7] and has produced all 9 editions of Julius Agwu's Crack Ya Rib in the UK.[1]

Akinlolu stated in an interview with PulseNG, that his concerts are part of re-branding Africa's image, and bringing out everyone to come see a new image of Africa. As a talent manager, Akinlolu Jekins manages Akpororo, Helen Paul, MC Acapella, and Mr Patrick.[8] In 2021, immediately after the lockdowns eased off in UK, Akinlolu Jekins organized an eight-city US tour for Mr. Patrick,[9][10] eight-city Made in Nigeria Tour for MC Acapella,[11] twelve-city Homesick Tour for Kenny Blaq [12] and has scheduled an eight-city tour for Akpororo in November .[13]

Early years[edit]

Akinlolu studied Medical Microbiology in Babcock University, Nigeria, but never practiced his discipline.

In 2004, he stepped into the entertainment circle assisting DJ Shola B's promoter in management and getting gigs. Akinlolu began freelancing as a promoter, and in 2009 he registered his first entertainment company, SLIMZ Promotion, UK Limited, and got his first event with the Is It You Money, UK Tour of Eldee,[14] a well-known Nigerian entertainer at the time.[15] He later founded Akinlolu Jekins & Co LTD in 2009, which is one of UK's fastest growing entertainment companies.[1]
