Akshat Sharma (born 1993) is an Indian musician who plays Indian classical music on Slide Guitar. [1] [2]
Akshat was taught and trained from an early age. He learnt Slide Guitar under the “Guru Shishya Parampara” from his Father Pt. Shri Krishan Sharma. [3]
He was also fortunate enough to learn from his Grandfather Pt. Gopal Krishan Sharma[4]
Akshat is the fourth generation carrying forward the family legacy. [5]
Akshat has given solo performances in All India Radio and DoorDarshan. Apart from Slide Guitar, Akshat also plays Indian Classical Music on Synthesizer with the same proficiency.
He has had the privilege to play with renowned artists of the National Orchestra as he has been a part of the prestigious “Vadya Vrind,” which was started by Bharat Ratna Pt. Ravi Shankar.
Apart from music, Akshat did his Honors in Bachelors of Commerce from Shaheed Bhagat Singh College of Commerce, Delhi University, and his Masters of Business Administration in Finance from IP University, Delhi, following which he worked as a Business Analyst with a reputed MNC for some time.
Like his father, Akshat is also a keen believer that Indian Classical Music should reach the masses and wishes to devote considerable time to promoting and teaching Indian Classical Music to the younger generation.[6] [7]
In order to promote Fine Arts of India, Akshat has formed a Foundation named in the loving memory of his Grandfather Pt. Gopal Krishan. Through this foundation, Akshat aims to promote not only Indian Classical Music but other forms of art as well, so that the rich heritage of our country can be preserved. [8]
