Al-Fadl ibn Yaq'ub al-Fazari was an overseas governor of Sicily for six months. He was sent to Sicily in 835 after the assassination of Mohammed ibn Abdallah. He became known in the summer of the same year with two raids, one in Syracuse and one in the area of Castrogiovanni, in an important battle in which the patrician of Sicily fell on horseback and was rescued by his soldiers.
He ruled Sicily until the month of September, when the Emir of Kairouan, Ziadet-Allah, sent a crowned prince, Ibrahim ibn Allah
Al-Fadl was reported the following year, 836, when the islands of the Tyrrhenian coast, perhaps the Aeolian Islands, and a fortress, perhaps Tindari, were attacked by a well-known army of Al-Fadl ibn Yaq'ub.
