Alan Corey is an American entrepreneur, real estate investor and author.[1][2][3][4]
Background[edit]
Corey was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and attended the University of Georgia where he earned his degree in computer science.[5] In 2001, by the age of 22, he relocated to New York City where he worked at Red Dot Solutions as a technical consultant.[5][6] In 2005, Corey's first renovated flip was located in Red Hook and was sold to American investor and television personality, Barbara Corcoran for a reported $1 million.[7][3]
In 2007, Corey published his debut book, A Million Bucks by 30. The book chronicles his personal finance story as a real estate investor and how he accumulated $1 million by the age of 30.[8][9][10][11]
In April 2013, Corey published his second book, The Subversive Job Search: How to Overcome a Lousy Job, Sluggish Economy, and Useless Degree to Create a Six-Figure Career.[12][13]
Corey was named the Favorite NYC Real Estate Personality by Curbed in 2008,[2] and named the Top 1% real estate agent in Atlanta from 2017 to 2022.[14]
In March 2021, Corey published his book, House FIRE [Financial Independence, Retire Early]: How to Be a Red-Hot Real Estate Millionaire with a Wealth of Time and Money to Burn which chronicles Corey's journey to reaching financial independence and early retirement.[15][16]
Corey's work has been featured in several business magazines and publications including, being on Fast Company's Fast 50 Rising star list, and being named a Millionaire in the Making by Money magazine.[17] He has appeared in several radio and TV shows, including CNBC talk show The Big Idea with Donny Deutsch,[11] Bravo's Queer Eye for the Straight Guy,[18][19] Fox & Friends,[20][21] and NPR's Talk of the Nation and Bryant Park Project.[22][23]
