Albana Bilalli (born 27 July 1989, Pristina, Kosovo), known professionally as ALBANA, is an Albanian singer, songwriter, and composer recognized for her work across multiple genres, including soul, R&B, funk, and jazz.[1][2] She has released several albums and singles and represented Kosovo internationally.
Early life and education
Albana Bilalli was born on 27 July 1989 in Pristina, Kosovo. She began her musical training at a young age, attending a lower music school in Pristina before pursuing higher education. She graduated with a Master's degree in classical singing (mezzo-soprano) from the University of Pristina's Faculty of Music and Arts in 2015.[1][2]
Career
Early career
Albana’s musical career began in 2008, performing as the vocalist for the band Offchestra.[3] She participated in Albanian music festivals, including "Top Fest 4" in 2007 with the song "Me Mungon," "Kënga Magjike" in 2009 with "Largohem Vetë," and again in 2013 with "Akull" at *Kënga Magjike*.[2][3] In 2015, she returned to "Top Fest 12" with "Dielli Lind Perseri." Her performances included soul, R&B, and jazz elements.
Albums and singles
In 2017, Bilalli released her debut album, *Drita ime Fajkoi i vogël dhe Valët e shpirtit*, combining traditional and contemporary styles.[4] In 2022, she released the singles "Gentleman" and "Too Strong," the latter composed by her with orchestration by Hayden Chisholm.[5][6] In 2023, she released "We Go Down Together," part of her album *Free*, a collaboration with Chisholm, made available on Spotify and Apple Music in 2024.[7][8] Later in 2023, she released "I Can Never Get Enough," with a music video on her YouTube channel.[9] Her album *Merrem* is also available on streaming platforms.[10]
International representation
In 2021, Albana represented Kosovo at Expo Dubai, performing traditional Albanian songs to promote the region’s cultural heritage.[11] This event highlighted her involvement in cultural promotion on an international level.
