Alec Edmond became the Richmond Football Club's first senior premiership captain when Richmond finished top of the ladder at the conclusion of the 1902 VFA season. He would repeat this feat in 1905 when Richmond defeated North Melbourne in the 1905 VFA Grand Final.
Edmond's career began at Richmond in the 1899 VFA season. He went on to play 126 senior matches for the tigers. Captaining the team between 1901 and 1907, he lead the club to VFA premierships in 1902 and 1905. For these achievements he was inducted to Richmond's Hall of Fame in 2007.
