Aleksandar Simić (Serbian Cyrillic: Александар Симић, pronounced [alɛ̌ksaːndar sǐːmitɕ]; born January 22, 1973) is a Serbian composer.
The Vatican commissioned a mass from Simić that commemorated the 950 years of the East-West Schism,[1] and he composed a tango accompaniment for a contestant in the 2009 World Figure Skating Championships in Los Angeles.[citation needed] His opus includes over 100 compositions during thirty years of work, as well as cooperation with significant international and national organisations like the United Nations.[2] Simić's composition "Zodiac" was used for an interactive installation at the NASA Kennedy Space Center to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Hubble Space Telescope.[3] He has composed the music for the play A Flight Above the Cuckoo's Nest.[4]
