Alessandro Cunsolo is a physicist serving as Teaching Faculty III in the Department of Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.[1]
Education
Cunsolo received an Italian Laurea degree in physics from the Sapienza University of Rome in 1994.[2] He was awarded a PhD in physics from Joseph Fourier University in Grenoble, France, in 1999, with a thesis titled “Relaxation Phenomena in the THz Dynamics of Simple Fluid Probed by Inelastic X-ray Scattering” (advisor: F. Sette).[2]
Career
After completing his doctorate, Cunsolo held scientific positions involving high-resolution inelastic X-ray and neutron scattering instrumentation. These included work related to the Institut Laue-Langevin, the Advanced Photon Source at Argonne National Laboratory, and the National Synchrotron Light Source II at Brookhaven National Laboratory, where he served as a beamline scientist on high-resolution inelastic X-ray scattering instruments.[1][2]
He later joined the University of Wisconsin-Madison, serving as Senior Scientist in the Department of Physics (2020–2021) before becoming Teaching Faculty III.[1][2]
