Alessio Petrozziello is an Italian computer scientist and data scientist. Since 2019, he has been an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at University College London (UCL)[1] and since 2017 he has been at Expedia London, where he is currently a Data Science Team Lead.

He was one of the co-founder of the Geoinformatics and Earth Observation Laboratory at Penn State University.[2] Petrozziello received: the young scientist award by The Italian Cultural Society of Washington D.C. in 2014 [3] and the 13th Annual "Humies" Awards for Human-Competitive Results Produced by Genetic and Evolutionary Computation (Bronze Award) in 2016. [4]

Petrozziello studied computer science at Università degli Studi di Salerno, Salerno between 2011 and 2014.[5] He has previously worked at the Penn State University (2014) where he co-founded the Geoinformatics and Earth Observation Laboratory,[2] University of Portsmouth (2015-19), and University of Oxford (2018).[6]

Alessio Petrozziello has published many academic papers, especially in the area of machine learning,[7] with 220 citations (in 2020) according to Google Scholar. He has contributed particularly in the areas of search based software engineering and recommender systems.
