Alex Cubis (born September 13, 1991) is an Australian actor.

Early life[edit]

Cubis grew up in Sydney, Australia. He attended St. Aloysius’ College, from where he graduated second in the State of New South Wales in drama.[1] He later attended the University of Sydney.[citation needed]

Career[edit]

While a student, Cubis was signed to Chadwick models.[2] He began his career in a recurring role in series The Gauntlet. He was a series regular in the Netflix Original Mako Mermaids.[3]

In 2016, Cubis joined the cast of feature film Only Once More. It also starred Estella Warren and Thomas Duffy. The film was shot in Beverly Hills.[4] It was retitled Just Within Reach in 2017.[5] That year he also appeared in No Evil, which screened at the Palm Springs International Short Fest.[6] He appeared also in the fourth season of ABC show Rake.[7][dead link]

Cubis has also worked in theatre. He played a leading role in the premiere of Riverside Theatre's The Incredible Here and Now.[8] The show was about Parramatta and life in Sydney, and starred Caroline Brazier and Bardiya Mckinnon.[9]

In 2017 Cubis starred in the Funny or Die show Unverified.[10] He was also the creator.[11] He worked on a series called Masculinity in Crisis.[12]

Other works[edit]

Cubis hosted a podcast for iTunes called Honest Conversations with Alex Cubis[13] and previously produced Show Offs, which was selected for the Cannes Court Metrage.[14]
