Dave Gibson (born 1958) is an Australian actor, impressionist and voice actor.
Career[edit]
After graduating from Waverley College, Sydney, Gibson attended the University of Sydney, co-editing student magazine Tharunka. Upon graduating he began work as a voice actor in 1983.[1]
Radio[edit]
In 1988 Gibson joined Doug Mulray's breakfast program on Triple M Sydney, initially doing voice over before replacing Andrew Denton as co-host and comedy writer. He created a number of comedic characters including parodies of Alan Jones (Gloria) and Frank Lowy (Mr Fimey).[2][3][4]
From 1991 until 1994 he co-host Gibson & Duckworth with Rob Duckworth, initially on Triple M Brisbane, before the show moved to Triple M Sydney.[2] In 1998 he returned to breakfast on Triple M Sydney, working on the show with Andrew Denton, Amanda Keller, Peter Berner and Mikey Robbins until 2003.[5][6] Gibson and Duckworth returned to host Saturday morning breakfast on Triple M Sydney in 2016.[2]
In 2019 and 2020, he worked for 2CH.[7] Since 2020, he has done voiceover work for Roy & HG's Bludging on the Blindside. on ABC Radio Grandstand.[1]
