Alex Mansour, birth name Alex Mansour Soares, (born February 9, 1975) is a Brazilian Fashion, Fine-art and Nude photographer as well as the producer and voice of the Fotometrando Podcast.
His work has already been exhibited in some of the best galleries in Brazil, and his work Couple in Fontana has already been exhibited in the MoMA and the Jeu de Paume of Paris.
Biography
Alex Mansour was born on February 9, 1975 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. From an early age, he expressed his interest in the beauty of textures and shapes, and at the age of seven he received his first camera from his mother, a Kodak Ektra 20. Since then, he has never stopped photographing. His background in chemistry led him to work in some pharmaceutical industries as a quality control analyst, but he never abandoned his camera, taking every opportunity to photograph. In this period he photographed social events in companies such as Glaxo, Knoll and Abbott. In 2003 he joined the team of chemical analysts in one of the laboratories of the Oswaldo Cruz Foundation[1] (Fiocruz)[2][3] and 11 months later he was invited to document the visit of the President of the Republic to the institution. The result of this work led him to integrate the communication team as a full-time photographer. Since then he has been expanding his work in the photographic market. Specializing in studio lighting, product photography, advertising photography, fashion photography, image composition, modeling direction, continuous light, portrait, creative flash, Photoshop, Lightroom, digital image manipulation, among others, learning from professionals like Glória Flügel, Danilo Russo, Walter Stuka, Altair Hoppe and Newton Medeiros.
Podcast
On June 5, 2015, Alex Mansour created a podcast aimed at the dissemination of photography in his country, and thus the podcast Fotometrando[4] was born, which taught everyone to develop and improve their photographic eye, with a very simple language and an elaborate didactic approach. The Fotometrando podcast quickly became prominent among Portuguese-language podcasts. On January 11, 2016, Alex Mansour was invited to participate as a guest in episode 181 of the highly regarded podcast Radiofobia[5], the podcast of Leo Lopes, Brazil's most respected podcaster.
