Career[edit]

In 2016, Slade was nominated for a Craig Noel Award by the San Diego Theatre Critics Circle for Outstanding Featured Performance in a Musical, Female in Oklahoma!, a musical at New Village Arts Theatre.[1][2]

Slade was cast as the leading role of Diane in the film Friend of the World[3][4] in 2017 after reacquainting with director Brian Patrick Butler.[5] Her performance, alongside co-star Nick Young, has received praise from several film critics.[6][7][8] Daniel M. Kimmel described her character as introspective and intersectional.[9] That same year she was cast as Kate in Good People at Scripps Ranch Theatre[10] and Jo in The Legend of Georgia McBride at Cygnet Theatre.[11][12]

In 2019, Slade portrayed a young Ruby Bridges in The Ruby in Us,[13] a stage play at the Old Globe Theatre.[14][15] She was later cast as part of an ensemble in We All Die Alone.[16][17]
