Alfred Silvester Gonsalves

Alfred Silvester Gonsalves joined the Indian Foreign Service in 1963 and was employed in the Permanent Mission of India to the United Nations in New York City.

He was High Commissioner of India in Vientiane (Laos) from 1968 to 1971.

From October 1978 to October 1981 he was High Commissioner of India in Dar es Salaam (Tanzania).

From October 7, 1980 to March 15, 1982, he concurrently had a commission in Mahé.

From August 1981 to October 1985 he was Ambassador of India to Cairo (Egypt).

From October 1985 to August 1986, he was the representative of the Government of India to the United Nations Office in Geneva.

From 1989 to 1992 he was Ambassador of India to Moscow.
