Alfredo Carpaneto (4 January 1915 – 26 January 1945) was an Unteroffizier in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross, awarded by Nazi Germany for extreme battlefield bravery. Carpaneto, then with the 502nd Heavy Panzer Battalion, was killed in action on 26 January 1945 during the Soviet East Prussian Offensive. He was posthumously awarded the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross on 28 March 1945.[1]
