Alireza Bazrafshan (Persian: علیرضا بذرافشان) (born August 06, 1976) is an Iranian film Director and screenwriter.[1]

Education[edit]

Graduated from Amirkabir University of Technology (Tehran Polytechnic) in Computer Engineering Passing teaching Playwriting and Screenwriting courses under the supervision of Asghar Farhadi.

Alireza Bazrafshan started his artistic activities since 1996/1375 and theater acting under the supervision of Asghar Farhadi. He continued his collaboration with Farhadi in the following years and in addition to co-writing the play "Tahe Doniya" he has three other collaborations with Asghar Farhadi in his professional career: acting in the series ‘’Tale of a City’’, writing the script of the second season of the series ‘’Tale of a City’’ directed by Asghar Farhadi and also writing the script of Asghar Farhadi's first movie called ‘’Dance in the Dust’’. During the 1380s, Bazrafshan focused most of his activities on writing screenplays for cinema and television works, and in this decade, he wrote very popular works such as the "Red Line’’ series. But in the 1390s, in addition to writing scripts, he also directed his works. After making a documentary film and three telefilms, his main activity has been in the field of directing television series. In addition to writing and directing, he has also acted in some of his and his colleagues' works. Also, as a teacher, he has held six courses of screenwriting workshops at Amirkabir University.

Some awards[edit]

In addition to being a candidate and winning acting awards in theater festivals (including the best acting award for the theaters: ‘’Tah e Donya’’ and ‘’Ghout e Mordegan’’ in the National Student Theater Festival), Bazrafshan has been a candidate for the best screenwriter or the best director for most of his works.
