The All India Mixed Martial Arts Association (AIMMAA) is an society for mixed martial arts. AIMMAA was formed in the year 2000 but registered in 2004.
Accomplishments[edit]
- The earliest known Mixed Martial Arts promotion sanctioned by AIMMAA was Clash of the Champions between 2004 and 2007.
- In 2014 AIMMAA received affiliation from the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF) and is currently the sole representative for India for the IMMAF.[1]
- AIMMAA has sanctioned every Super Fight League event held in India since 2012 including the India vs Pakistan SFL event in Dubai.
- AIMMAA has sanctioned three amateur MMA events named Bodypower India Open MMA Championships in 2014, 2015 and 2016.
- AIMMAA has created and launched a new format of MMA sparring called Sport MMA designed to enable under 18's to begin training in MMA as a martial entity in itself.
Partnership with IMMAF & UFC[edit]
In 2015, AIMMAA managed and trained team India to take part in the UFC Fan Expo held at Las Vegas on 10 July 2015.[2][3] The Indian delegation, officials and team to took part in 2015 IMMAF Amatuer world champioship MMA at UFC International Fight Week.[4]
