Allvue Systems is a software as a service firm that provides cloud-based software solutions for investment managers in the private capital and credit markets industry, including general partners, limited partners, fund administrators, banks, and other parts of the financial industry.

Allvue was established in 2019 through the merger of Black Mountain Systems and AltaReturn, two providers of investment technology solutions[1]. Headquartered in the Miami, Florida metro area[2], Allvue has office locations throughout North America and Europe.

Allvue Systems product portfolio also covers different asset classes, which include:

Black Mountain Systems was founded in 2007 to design solutions for data aggregation, process management, and business reporting for global investment firms. Over the next decade, Black Mountain expanded internationally. The company was acquired by private equity firm Stone Point Capital 2015.[3] In 2019, Black Mountain acquired Mariana Systems, a  developer of cloud-based credit and portfolio management technology[4].

AltaReturn launched in 2008, providing back-office and reporting solutions for private capital administrators, fund-of-funds, and family offices. These solutions were developed on the Microsoft foundation and offered as standalone applications or a product suite.[5]

In May 2019, Vista Equity Partners – a U.S.-based investment firm specializing in enterprise software – acquired Black Mountain from Stone Point Capital[6].

In September 2019, Vista acquired AltaReturn for $500 million and simultaneously merged the two entities into Allvue.[7] At the time of the merger, Allvue products served 50 of the top 100 CLO managers and 90,000 limited partners. Executives from both Black Mountain and AltaReturn worked together to lead the merged entity.[8]

Allvue is based in the Miami metropolitan area with locations in New York, Chicago, Boston, San Diego, London, Kyiv, Rotterdam, and Singapore[9].

In October 2021, Allvue was the recipient of two Drawdown Awards, which celebrate innovation within private capital fund operations. Allvue won the “Technology: Accounting & Reporting” and “Technology: End to End” categories[10].
