Alon Kaplan (born October 28, 1939) is an Israeli lawyer. He is an international expert in Trust Law and taxation of trusts.[1][2] Member of the International Board of the Weizmann Institute.[3]
Kaplan is considered one of the specialists in trusts in Israel. The international rating company Chambers and Partners bestowed him the highest rating "Senior States People" and called him "Guru" and "specialist in trusts in Israel".[4] Kaplan is ranked in fifth place in the field of trusts in Dun's 100 guide for 2018 and first place for 2019.[5]
Kaplan wrote 7 books: 2 books on "Doing Business in Israel" in English (this book was translated and edited in German), and 5 books on trust law international and in Israel, including the book "Trusts in Israel- Theory and practice on trust law in Israel".[6]
In late 2000, his book Life Cycle of a Family Business ,which describes the stages of the family business. [7]
Biography[edit]
In 1975 Kaplan founded an independent law office specializing in commercial law, international agency law and international commercial activities.[8][9]
Kaplan acted as a consultant to the Israel Tax Authorities on trusts, and was appointed a member of the Israel Tax Authority committee "the Israeli committee", for the preparation of the law of taxation of trusts.[10]
Kaplan was a lecturer on trusts at the Interdisciplinary Center Herzliya, college of Management and Economics and a lecturer for the master's degree course at the Faculty of Law of the Tel Aviv University.[11]
