Alper Tursun (born 13 June 1993) is a Turkish professional footballer who plays as a defender.
Club career
Alanyaspor
After moving from England to Turkey at a young age, Tursun joined TFF Second League side Alanyaspor. Tursun made his Alanyaspor debut on 16 September 2012, in a 2–0 victory over Ofspor starting the fixture before being replaced by Mehmet Balban in the 68th minute.[1] The following season, Tursun established himself in the Alanyaspor starting eleven, starting thirty-one times and making three substitute appearances.[2] Alanyaspor went on to win promotion to the TFF First League, through a play-off triumph.
Following Alanyaspor's promotion to the Süper Lig, Tursun found himself limited to first-team opportunities, so he therefore joined TFF Second League side Ankara Demirspor on a season-long loan. On 23 September 2015, Tursun made his Ankara Demirspor debut in a Turkish Cup tie against Sarıyer, which resulted in a 2–1 defeat for Tursun.[3] After only making three league appearances by the end of January 2016, Tursun's loan spell was cut short.
Towards the end of the 2015/16 campaign, Alanyaspor announced that Tursun would leave the club on the expiry of his contract.
Crawley Town
On 2 July 2016, Tursun joined League Two side Crawley Town on a one-year deal.[4] Tursun was assigned the number 21 jersey upon arrival. After only a month after joining the club, Tursun's contract was mutually terminated after the right-back supposedly received better offers from his home nation; Turkey.[5]
