Altoz is an American manufacturer of outdoor power equipment.[1] They are located in Greenbush, Minnesota and are manufactured in facilities totaling 339,000 square feet. Altoz is a subsidiary of Central Boiler Companies, Inc.[2]
History[edit]
Altoz was founded over 30 years ago[when?] by Dennis Brazier, founder of Central Boiler.[3] Brazier said he drew upon Central Boiler’s manufacturing experience to design, test, and eventually manufacture Altoz mowers.[4] Altoz unveiled its flagship model line, the XC series, at the Green Industry and Equipment Expo (GIE+EXPO) in Louisville, Kentucky in October 2013.[5]
In September 2016 Altoz unveiled the TRX, the industry’s and world’s first tracked zero-turn mower.[6] The TRX was introduced at the GIE+EXPO in October of 2016.[7] Two years after the initial launch, Altoz expanded the TRX line by adding the TRX 561 and TRX 354 in July 2018.[8]
The TSX 561 i was unveiled in March 2021 as the industry’s first stand-on zero-turn tracked mower. [9]
Products[edit]
Altoz currently offers four model lines of wheeled zero-turn mowers, the XC, XP, XE and XR, as well as two model lines of tracked zero-turn mowers, the TRX and TSX. Engine partners Kawasaki Heavy Industries Motorcycle & Engine and Vanguard Engines by Briggs & Stratton provide the power for the lineup of mowers, with some models topping speeds of 19 mph. [4]
Riding Zero-turn Tracked Mower: (2016 - present) Altoz introduced a tracked zero-turn mower, the TRX, which was designed with Altoz’s patented rear torsion axle track system.[6] The tracks bridge over rough terrain providing the operator with a smoother ride than with a wheeled mower. [7]
Stand-on Zero-turn Tracked Mower: This mower was introduced in 2021[9] and is like its predecessor but also allows the user to get in to tighter spaces and haul more equipment at once due to its smaller foot print. [10]
