Robert Arturo Mejia Santos (born October 28, 1993), known professionally as Altur Santos, is a Dominican reggaeton singer-songwriter.
Santos was born in San Pedro De Macoris to Ana Gil Cesarina Rivas. He began studying music specifically saxophone at the age of 11 and began recording music by 15. At the age of 21, his mother tragically passed away. Having only his grandmother and his younger brothers, Robert decided to travel to North America to search for better opportunities.
From an early age, Santos had a passion for the Latin genre often composing his own music and assisting many other artists with their musical pursuits.
Early in his musical career, Santos was sought after in the Dominican Republic for his musical talents and saxophone playing skills where he was known across a variety of resorts. He was known as the stage name “Robert Sax”. By the age of 21, he began composing and recording reggae-ton music.
Santos independently released the single “Amore Criminal” with a music video in November 2019.
The song mixes styles of pop music & reggaeton.
Santos music is defined as Latin reggaeton and urbano. He incorporates elements of pop and trap. He cites several people as influences including Justin Quiles, Mozart Lapara, Faruko, J Balvin, Ozuna and Maluma.
