Thembalethu Dlamini (born 1 May 2004), better known by his stage name Alvin Xan Juice[2], is a South African rapper and songwriter. He is widely regarded as one of the country's best young rappers by the online news website Bittredd. On 3 March, he released his EP, titled DEATHRACE. Alvin Xan Juice was named one of the best upcoming rappers in South Africa and Africa in early 2019 by Bittredd.[3][4]
Early life
Juice originates from Durban in KwaZulu-Natal. He started rapping at the age of twelve, having been influenced by his cousin, who is currently a producer. He was raised by his grandmother but later moved to the city and attended Phoenix College of Johannesburg.[5] He now lives with his mother and half-brother.
Career
Juice released his first mixtape, LEMONADE, on 24 June 2018, but later removed it as it was not properly mixed and mastered. He began rapping at the age of 12 and recorded his music on his desktop computer using headphones. He discovered Soundcloud and Audiomack and uploaded his music to these platforms. He met the producer Slickfelloe at school and began working with him. He later established his own record label, as he did not want to be signed to a major label like Universal Music. He then released his most recent EP, DEATHRACE. [6][7]
DEATHRACE
Juice released his EP DEATHRACE on 3 March 2019. He first released the lead single, "Highs and Lows", the day before the EP's release.[8] It was released on ReverbNation and Audiomack. It was produced by Slick-Felloe with Juice as executive producer.[9]
