The Ambong Rebellion was an armed uprising of the Kadazan people at the village of Ambong, on Ambong Bay against the North Borneo Chartered Company. The rebellion was led by Kamanta and Lengap. Si Gunting, shortly after the end of the Sigunting War, joined forces with them. Sigunting escaped, but Kamanta and Lengap were captured and executed.^[1]
