America: The Motion Picture is an upcoming 2021 American animated comedy film directed by Matt Thompson.
Plot[edit]
A chainsaw-wielding George Washington assembles a team of rabble rousers — including beer-loving bro Sam Adams, famed scientist Thomas Edison, acclaimed horseman Paul Revere, and a very pissed off Geronimo — to defeat Benedict Arnold and King James in the American Revolution.

Development[edit]
In March 2017, Netflix acquired David Callaham’s revisionist history script “America: The Motion Picture,” with Matt Thompson set to direct and produce the film with Channing Tatum, Callaham, Adam Reed, Peter Kiernan, Reid Carolin, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller and Will Allegra.[2]
Casting[edit]
In March 2017, Tatum was set to voice George Washington in the film.[2] On May 12, 2020, Amber Nash, Bobby Moynihan, Lucky Yates, Megan Leahy, Killer Mike, and Callaham are in voice cast.[3] Jason Mantzoukas, Olivia Munn, Andy Samberg, Will Forte, Raoul Trujillo, and Simon Pegg were revealed to be in the voice cast as well.[1]
Release[edit]
On November 5, 2020, the film was set to be released in 2021.[4] On April 27, 2021, the release date was revealed to be June 30, 2021.[5]
