Hollywood Stargirl is an upcoming American teen romantic drama film directed by Julia Hart from a screenplay that she co-wrote with Jordan Horowitz. The film will be a sequel to Stargirl.[1]

Production

A sequel to Stargirl was announced to be in development. Julia Hart will return to direct, while Grace VanderWaal will reprise her role as Stargirl Caraway. Elijah Richardson and Judy Greer are also set to star,[2][3] with Greer replacing Sara Arrington as Ana, Stargirl's mother and Richardson set to play Evan, the romantic lead. The sequel, titled Hollywood Stargirl, will focus on the titular character experiencing fame and success.[4] Uma Thurman is set to play Roxanne Martel, a musician that Stargirl admires, and Michael Penn is set to write music for the film; Hart and Jordan Horowitz are writing the screenplay.[5] Judd Hirsch and Tyrel Jackson Williams respectively play Mr. Mitchell, Stargirl's new neighbor, and Terrell, Evan's older brother and aspiring filmmaker.[6]

Principal photography began on May 14, 2021 and is expected to conclude on July 7, 2021 in Los Angeles, California.[7][8][not in citation given]
