American Academy of Emergency Physicians
The American Academy of Emergency Physicians (AAEP) is under the authority of the American Association of Physician Specialists.[1]
AAEP works toward recognition of emergency medicine Fellowship (medicine) for physicians with Residency (medicine) training in Primary care specialties such as Family Medicine and Internal Medicine who wish to work primarily in emergency medicine.[2][3] Upon completion of the fellowship, the physician is eligible to sit for the Board of Certification in Emergency Medicine’s (BCEM) exam and become Board certification.[4]
Fellows use the post-nominal letters letters FAAEP.[5]
