American Snippets[1] is a podcast created by Barbara Allen[2][3] and Dave Brown. It is one of the first patriotic podcasts created in the United States of America designed to bring Americans together from all walks of life. The podcast focuses on lessons in leadership, entrepreneurship, service and actional steps to strengthen family, community and country. The podcast's tagline is "Don't Just Be Inspired. Be Exceptional." Barbara talked about her inspiration for the podcast on the Today show and other media outlets. [4] [5][6]
History[edit]
The first podcast was aired on June 1, 2017, as a live show for Americans to connect, grow in leadership, entrepreneurship and community. Barbara Allen was inspired to create a space to help others turn their pain into purpose after experiencing the pain of losing her husband, commanding officer[7] Louis Allen when he was murdered[8] during the Iraq War. Louis Allen was murdered by Sgt. Martinez[9] who walked free[10][11][12], even though he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, according to The New York Times[13] and other news sources.[14] Reuter's reported that "Sgt. Martinez was the first U.S. Soldier charged with killing, or "fragging", his commanding officers in the Iraq war."[15]
