Aminul Islam (born 29 December 1963) is a poet and essayist from Bangladesh. He has written seventeen books including thirteen books of poetry. He has been involved in creative writing for some 20 years.[1]
Early life and career[edit]
Aminul Islam was born on 29 December 1963 in the District of Chapainawabgonj, Bangladesh. In the nineties of twentieth century he embarked as a poet and essayist in Bengali literature. In contemporary Bengali poetry he has developed a style of his own. His poetry is like a tree rooted in the fertile land of Bangladesh watered by rivers and stretching its branches & twigs towards the sky of greater international geography. He is a Bangladeshi by birth but a citizen of the whole world in mind & heart, thinking & expression. He is very fond of music. Besides a prolific writer, he is a mid-level officer in the Civil Service of Bangladesh.
