Amit Ramani (born April 15, 1974) is one of India's serial entrepreneurs who started Awfis (co-working space) in 2015.[1][2] In 2014, he co-founded a business in the facility management segment, under the brand name Petra [3]. He joined NELSON Asia as a Senior Vice President in 2005, and today, he is a co-founder and managing director there.[4][5][6]
Education
Born and brought up in a family of engineers, Amit Ramani's wish to pursue Architecture came as a huge surprise. He graduated with a B. Arch in 1994 from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi India. He holds a master's degree in Architecture (1999) from Kansas State University, Manhattan, Kansas. Additionally, he also holds a specialized master's degree in Real Estate and Workplace Strategy (2001) from Cornell University, Ithaca, New York.[7]
Career
In his early career, Amit worked as a senior consultant with HOK, and later worked as a business partner with Bank of America. After spending around 12 years in the US, he returned to India and co-founded three businesses, NELSON, Petra and Awfis.[8]
Prior to his current role with NELSON, he worked with them as a Chief Operating Officer, and led it to be recognized as one of the top five global design firms.[9] Today, Amit has over 15 years of experience in the field of design, real estate, and workplace management.[10]
Awards
Amit's contribution in the field of real estate and facility planning has won him awards and recognitions. He had been the recipient of the IFMA Foundation Awards for three consecutive years.[11][12]
