Amitava Chakravorty

Amitava Chakravorty (born 21 July 1972) is an Indian politician of Bharatiya Janata Party, currently serving as a State General Secretary (Organisation) of BJP West Bengal. He was associated with world largest student's organization Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad since his student life at Balurghat College. He was one of the famous student leader of North Bengal University and was appointed as State Secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad West Bengal. After appointed as state secretary he moved to kolkata and there he came in contact with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a Hindu nationalist volunteer organisation. He decided to left home and became pracharak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh. Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh appointed him as a state organization secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad West Bengal and later he was promoted to eastern zonal organization secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad. Later he has been appointed as a national secretary of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad.

In 2016 Amitava Chakravorty joined Bharatiya Janata Party and former national president Amit Shah appointed him as state jt. general secretary of Bharatiya Janata Party Odisha.Later in 2019 national president Jagat Prakash Nadda appointed him as a state jt. generel secretary of BJP West Bengal.In 2020 BJP President Jagat Prakash Nadda has appointed Amitava Chakravorty as General Secretary (Organisation) of BJP West Bengal.[1]
