Amjad Ayub Mirza (born 17 November 1959) is a British commentator, writer, columnist, journalist and political activist.[1][2] He is currently a contributor for ANI and News18 India. He is also the founder of the news website, Daily Lalkar. He currently hosts the show 'Kashmir in Focus' on MATV.

He is also the head of the rights group 'Center for Environmental and Management Studies', which is based in the UK. In September 2020, he spoke at the 45th regular session of the UNHRC.[3][4][5]

Political views[edit]

He is an advocate for the integration and reunification of Gilgit Baltistan (which he calls "Pakistan Occupied Ladakh") and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (which he refers to as "West Jammu" or "PoJK") with the union territories of Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir respectively.[6][7][8][9] He is a fervent critic of terrorism and separatism in Jammu and Kashmir, the Xinjiang re-education camps, the country of Pakistan and the Pakistan army.[10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][2][20]

He considers himself an Indian living under Pakistani occupation and is strongly opposed to the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor, an economic project which goes through Gilgit Baltistan.[21]
