Dr. C. Anadarama Upadhya (born 14th Jan 1952), Ph.D, is a Kannada Scholar, critic, essay writer and a visiting professor at PES University at Bengaluru, Karnataka. He is the author of many books on Kannada Literature, specializing in the field of Yakshagana Literature. He recieved his Ph.D from Osmaniya University on his work on Yakshagana Mahabharath Prasangagalu.
He hlods the first PhD in the field of Yakshagana in Kannada. He was born in Chitrapady of Udupi District. Some of his books are: Yaksha Chinthane, Yaksha Darshana, Pratibimba- Mohammad Zaman Azurdah's Award Winning Kashmiri Essays (Kannada Translation) among others.
He has recieved The Aryabhatta Award for Kannada Literature in 2007 and Yakshagana Academy Award in 2019.

Early life and Education:[edit]
Born to Narayana Upadhya and Kaverama, Upadhya was raised in Chitrapady . He finished his high schooling in Viveka High School, Kota. Thereafter, he pursued college studies at the Rural College in Kanakapura. He took post graduation degrees in Kannada M.A, M.Phl and Ph.D in Osmaniya University, Hyderabad.

He worked as a Kannada lecturer in Shanthi College, St. Joseph’s College and Sheshadaripuram College, Bangalore. he joined Karnataka Bank in the year 1977 and worked there for 34 years and retired as Assistant General Manager and Regional Head in the year 2012. He joined PES University as visiting proffesor for Kannada in the year 2019.
