Script error: No such module "AfC submission catcheck". Dnieper Electrical Locomotive Works is a machine-building enterprise that manufactures main electric locomotives , tractor locomotive units, electric mining locomotives, and electric starters type PSU2.


History[edit]

The plant was founded in 1934 as a locomotive repair company. In 1958 it was reoriented to the production of industrial electric locomotives and traction units. On April 1, 1958, the plant produced the first industrial electric locomotive D100 . In 1960 produced locomotives VL26 and VL41 (on their own projects). In 1993, the company began production of the first Ukrainian main electric locomotive DE1 . Together with the German contractor Siemens, the plant designed and mastered the serial production of DC electric locomotives type DS3 , which would replace the Czechoslovak Skoda Model CS4/ЧС4 (Latin/Cyrillic) (Cyrillic).

Scandal[edit]

On March 8, 2017, the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine announced the suspicion of the company's director Oleksandr Zeldin. He is suspected of embezzling 3 million hryvnias. At the same time, salary arrears increased to UAH 6 million.
