Anand Sankeshwar is an Indian businessman. He is the managing director of VRL Group[2], one of the large logistics and transport companies in India (incl.4360 vehicles, comprising 419 tourist buses and 3941 transport goods vehicles. Limca Book of Records mentioned it as the single largest fleet owner of commercial vehicles in the country's private sector.[3] and also a managing director of Vijayavani, a Kannada newspaper in the state of Karnataka.[4]
Early life[edit]
Anand Sankeshwar was born in the Gadag district of Karnataka, son of businessman Vijay Sankeshwar, founder of VRL Group who commenced transport business in 1976 in the name of Vijayanand Roadlines with one lorry. Anand Sankeshwar joined the family business at the age of 14.
Education[edit]
Sankeshwar attended the J G College of Commerce at Hubli, Karnataka. [5] Governor Thawar Chand Gehlot conferred an honorary doctorate to Anand Sankeshwar during the 17th annual convocation of Karnataka State Open University (KSOU).[6][7][8][9]
Social works[edit]
Anand Sankeshwar organized Yog Vignyan Shivir for the first of its kind in North Karnataka in 2007 under the aegis of Patanjali Yog Peeth Hardwar, in the presence of Ramdev, more than 11000 people had attended the Shivir.[10][11]
