Meher Pudumjee

Meher Pudumjee is the Chairperson of Thermax Limited, an engineering company providing sustainable solutions in the field of energy and environment. She took over the role as Chairperson from her mother Padma Shri Anu Aga in 2004.

Education and career

Meher Pudumjee is a post-graduate in Chemical Engineering from the Imperial College of Science & Technology, London. Meher joined Thermax as a trainee engineer in August 1990. In her initial days at Thermax, she along with her husband, Pheroz Pudumjee worked in the subsidiary of Thermax in the UK.

Meher Pudumjee returned to India in 1996, where she was appointed on the Board of Directors and worked closely in the finance function of Thermax. During January 2001 she was appoint non-executive Director, and from 2002 till taking over as the Chairperson of Thermax Limited from her mother Anu Aga's retirement in October 5, 2004, she served as the Vice-Chairperson of the company. She is also serving Crompton Greaves Limite as an Independent Director from July 26, 2007.

She also served as the Chairperson of Pune Zonal Council of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII).

• Business World announces Meher Pudumjee as the Most Influencial Woman of India in 2019

Family

Rohinton Aga, father of Meher Pudumjee, headed Thermax until his death in 1996. Her mother, Anu Aga is an Indian businesswoman and social worker, who led Thermax as its Chairperson from 1996–2004. Her husband, Pheroz Pudumjee, is a non-executive Director on the Board of Directors for Thermax.
