Ananta Kumar Seram, shortly known as A.K. Seram, is a Bangladeshi Manipuri writer, journalist and social activist.[2][3] He is the founder and the president of Bangladesh Manipuri Sahitya Sangsad (English: Bangladesh Manipuri Literature Grand Club) for the Manipuris of Bangladesh. He was also an editor of the Manipuri periodical named "Meira" (English: Flame).[4][5]

He graduated in Commerce from the Chittagong University in 1971. In 1976, he achieved another Bachelor's degree from the same institution. He was a senior official and concurrent auditor in Sonali Bank of Bangladesh.

Contributions to literary works[edit]

He published many poetry books, comprising of the collection of Manipuri language as well as Bengali language poems and many journals.[6] He took active participation in building up the Pan-Meiteism mindset, by attending many literary seminars organized by the Manipuri Sahitya Parishad of Assam and other states of North East India.[7]

Awards and Honor[edit]

In 2018, he was awarded the Mahakavi Anganghal Award 2018, which carried 10,000 INR, a citation and a shawl, in recognition of his contribution to as well as promotion of the Manipuri language, Manipuri literature and Manipuri culture in Bangladesh.[8]
