Andrea Frances Slingsby is an Australian business executive, company director, author, and entrepreneur. She has held executive and board roles across travel, retail, property, and financial services, including as President and Chief Executive Officer of Flight Centre North America and Chief Operating Officer of Michael Hill International (ASX/NZX: MHJ). She is the founder of Illumetis, an artificial-intelligence-based leadership and governance platform, and the author of The Discipline Dividend: The Leadership Edge That AI Cannot Replace (2026). She currently serves as an independent non-executive director of Michael Hill International and Prime Financial Group (ASX: PFG).[1][2][3][4]
Education and career
Slingsby holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Queensland and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (GAICD). She is an alumna of Harvard Business School, having participated in the Presidents' Program in Leadership (PPL), a multi-year executive leadership program, completing the program in 2017.[5]
Flight Centre Travel Group
Slingsby worked for Flight Centre Travel Group for 14 years, holding senior roles including global human resources manager and President of Flight Centre North America.[1][2] As President of Flight Centre North America, she grew the division's annual sales turnover from $305 million to $850 million and expanded its retail network from 127 to 175 locations across the United States and Canada. In 2003, she was quoted by the Australian Financial Review in an article about Flight Centre's workplace culture and employer recognition.[6]
SCV Group and Atira Student Living
After leaving Flight Centre, Slingsby held senior roles in property and accommodation businesses. Slingsby served as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of SCV Group (previously Sunnycove, and subsequently rolled into Eureka Group Holdings), a publicly listed Australian company providing management services to nearly 100 retirement facilities nationally, from September 2007 to July 2009.[7][8]
In 2017, Slingsby was appointed chief executive officer of Atira Student Living, a student accommodation operator in Australia.[9] During her tenure, she grew beds under management from 309 to 1,064 across five Australian cities, with the company's expansion plans reported in the Australian Financial Review and The Australian.[10][11]
Blackmores
From Oct 2013 to Dec 2014, she was Head of Digital, leading an e-commerce strategy and website redevelopment project. The resulting website won Best UX Interface and Interactive Design at the 2015 ADMA Awards.[12]
Turner Family Investments
From Dec 2015 to Dec 2016, she was CEO of the Turner family office (founders of Flight Centre), establishing the family office and overseeing a portfolio including Spicers Luxury Retreats and the Turner Family Foundation.
Michael Hill International
Slingsby joined Michael Hill International in 2018 as interim chief people officer. In January 2019, she was appointed chief operating officer of the company.[1] Michael Hill's 2019 annual report identified her as chief operating officer and a member of the executive team.[2] She held the chief operating officer role until early 2021.[4][13][14]
In April 2025, Slingsby was appointed alternate director to Sir Michael Hill while he was on medical leave, a role she held until July 2025.[5] In September 2025, Michael Hill International appointed her an independent non-executive director.[4] The company's investor site lists her as an independent non-executive director and member of the board.[15]

She became an independent non-executive director of Prime Financial Group (ASX: PFG) on 5 July 2024.[16][3] Prime Financial describes her previous roles as including chief operating officer of Michael Hill International and executive positions at Flight Centre Travel Group.[3]
Slingsby has served as a director of Volunteering Gold Coast and as an investment committee member at McNab Group. She also served as Non-Executive Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee at O'Reilly's Rainforest Retreat and Canungra Valley Vineyards, and as a director of Durante Holdings, the Michael Hill family holding company, from 2009 to 2016.[15][17]
She currently serves as an independent non-executive director of both Michael Hill International (ASX/NZX: MHJ), having been appointed in September 2025, and Prime Financial Group (ASX: PFG), having been appointed in July 2024.
Illumetis and The Discipline Dividend Book
Slingsby is the founder of Illumetis, an AI-powered platform that provides structured decision-support and governance counsel to chief executives, senior leaders and board directors.[18] The platform combines artificial intelligence with a curated knowledge base drawn from executive and governance practice. She is also the author of The Discipline Dividend: The Leadership Edge That AI Cannot Replace, published in July 2026.[19]
