Baseball career[edit]

Davie was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals in the 32nd round (974th overall) of the 2001 Major League Baseball Draft.[1] As a first baseman and outfielder with the Johnson City Cardinals in 2001, Davie batted .221 with two home runs and 22 RBI in 39 games.

In his second season with Johnson City in 2002, Davie hit .219 in 45 games with nine doubles, two triples, six home runs and 23 runs batted in. The following year, he hit a career-high .260 with eight home runs and 24 RBI in 50 games for Johnson City.

Football career[edit]

College[edit]

Playing tight end for the generally run-happy Razorbacks (both Darren McFadden and Felix Jones ran for 1000+ yards in his freshman and sophomore seasons), Davie caught 24 passes for 199 yards and six touchdowns over the course of his college career. Davie chose to forgo his final season of eligibility with the Arkansas and enter the 2009 NFL Draft.[1] Davie would go undrafted.[1]

New York Jets[edit]

On May 3, 2009, the Jets would sign, the undrafted free agent, Davie only to release him before the start of training camp.[1][2]

Carolina Panthers[edit]

The Carolina Panthers would claim Davie off waivers on July 2, 2009.[1] Davie had a quiet preseason with the Panthers having only four receptions for 36 yards.[1] Davie was later waived by the team on September 5, 2009.[1]
