Andrew Hill Newman(born October 23, 1959) is an American actor, producer, and writer.[2]

Career[edit]

Newman began his career as an actor on Broadway. In 1990, he moved to Los Angeles to broaden his career in film and television. His early work in television included writing for Saturday Night Live, as well as the UPN sitcom, Guys Like Us. In 1999, Newman partnered with Dan Schneider to write for the Nickelodeon show, The Amanda Show. Newman would eventually become a staff writer on subsequent sitcoms created by Schneider's Bakery, such as Drake & Josh and iCarly. Newman created Celebrity Poker Showdown with Joshua Malina in 2002. He also worked with Matthew Perry and Hank Azaria, helping the former create a pilot for a series.[3]
