Andrew Salgado (born 8 August 1986) is a Nashville based singer and songwriter. He is the eldest son of Annivar and Doris Salgado and has one brother, Armand Salgado.

Salgado began writing plays and performing for his family starting at the age of 8 and while attending Chicago area schools where he sang with the jazz ensemble and played percussion in the orchestra. At age 13 he joined his father’s band, The Basement Boys and later formed a trio as well as his own band playing clubs and other venues in the Midwest.[1]

Before pursuing a music career full time, Salgado played and coached baseball and became a certified Pharmacy Technician.[2] He gained notoriety in 2013 by winning the first Pepsi Southern Original contest[3] at the Pepsi Gulf Coast Jam in Panama City Beach, FL.

Musical career

2013–2019

In 2015, Salgado released his debut album "Absolutely Everything.[4]" He co-produced the album with Jim "Moose" Brown.

In 2015, "Guess You Had To Be There" written by Salgado, Brian Wilson, Kacey Musgraves and Joe Thomas was released as a Brian Wilson and Kacey Musgraves duet.[5] The song was included on the Brian Wilson Album "No Pier Pressure."

In 2018, Salgado signed a publishing deal with Synapse Publishing & Entertainment. Soon after he released his second album 86 VOL 1, The album was produced by Mitch Malloy. "Back Home", from the same album, was featured in the 2018 movie "Heavens To Betsy 2."[6]

Between 2015 and 2018, Salgado toured nationally with his band and made numerous media appearances, including WGN Radio, ABC Chicago, Fox 17 Nashville, Cleveland's backstage pass and PBS "Songs From The Center."[7] [8] [9] [10] [11]

Charitable Work

In 2017, Andrew Salgado was named spokesperson for Music Over Miles[12][13]. Music Over Miles provides one day after school program targeting children ages 11 – 17. He supports other charities including Autism Speaks [14], and Trinity Services.[15]
