Andrew Simon McAllister is an award-winning composer, multi-instrumentalist and producer. His background of composing music for screen includes cinema released feature films, television series for broadcasting giants such as BBC, ITV, Channel 4, HBO, National Geographic, Discovery, Sky, MTV, Nickelodeon, Netflix, indents and video games.

His television credits include BBCPlanet of the Apemen', HBO Original Series 'Halfworlds', Andrew also scored BAFTA nominated primetime drama The Secret (TV series) for ITV. Feature film credits include Netflix ‘Hostage to the Devil’,‘We’re Doomed! Dad’s Army’, cinema released ‘Shooting for Socrates' and ‘The White Room’[1]

Career[edit]

Andrew Simon McAllister started playing brass instruments at age 6 including Cornet and Trumpet before progressing to Horn. He started learning guitar at age 11 and performed and toured in multi bands including a band with his cousin Nathan Connolly of Snow Patrol[2]. Andrew studied classical music at Queen’s University graduating with a BA in Music and Electro-Acoustic Composition. He then relocated to the U.S. to enhance his knowledge of writing to picture, here Andrew attended Berklee College of Music, graduating Summa Cum Laude in Film Scoring[2]

Andrew's television credits include BBC – Planet of the Apemen’ and BBC WWI drama ‘37 Days’ starring Ian McDiarmid, Tim Pigott-Smith and Nicholas Farrell, for which Andrew received a Royal Television Society Awards nomination [3]. Feature film credits include Netflix ‘Hostage to the Devil’, ‘We’re Doomed! The Dad’s Army Story’, ‘Shooting for Socrates’, ‘The White Room’, ‘The Breaker’ starring Bernard Hill, 'Rocky Ros Muc' and ‘My Lonely Me[1]. His soundtrack for ‘My Lonely Me’ was nominated for Best Soundtrack at the World Music & Independent Film Festival Awards and won Best Soundtrack at the International Independent Film Awards. In 2015 Andrew composed the music for Endemol’s TV movie ‘We’re Doomed! The Dad’s Army Story’ for BBC, which was broadcast on Christmas Day. Andrew also scored BAFTA nominated [4] primetime drama The Secret (TV series) for ITV,starring James Nesbitt and directed by Nick Murphy.
