Andrey Dakhovskyy (Ukrainian - Андрій Даховський) - Ukrainian producer[1], founder of one of the biggest and most powerful labels Ukrainian Records/Universal Music Group Licensee.
Had released Katya Chilly, Alena Vinnitskaya, Stereoliza, Django, Greenjolly, Esthetic Education and other artists' albums.
A co-founder of the first community-based music label based on blockchain technology - Younk.
Biography
Andrey Dakhovskyy[2] was born on May 23, 1962, in Saint Petersburg, USSR in a family of scholars.
He graduated from Odessa National Mechnikov University and holds an associate professor's degree in Higher Mathematics.
Dakhovskyy worked as an assistant in the Department of Theoretical Physics at Mechnikov University, and as a lecturer in the Department of Higher Mathematics at Odessa Polytechnic University.
Career
In the late 1990s, Dakhovskyy ran a network of musical CD shops in Odessa.
In 1999, he signed his first contract with Universal Music and became a Ukrainian licensee.
He founded the music label Ukrainian Records / Universal License, which released Katya Chilly, Alyona Vinnitskaya, Stereoliza, Django, Greenjolly, Esthetic Education and other artists' albums.
In 2000, he was honored to become a spokesperson for the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry and, in 2001, Dakhovskyy co-founded Ukrainian Music PC, one of the leading Ukrainian music publishing companies[3].
In 2007, Andrey Dakhovskyy, together with European partners, founded the Ukrainian branch of SMASH! TV channel.
In 2017, in partnership with Don Grierson's music industry A&R, Dakhovskyy invented the concept of the first community-based music label based on blockchain technology - Younk.[4][5] The technology became a significant contribution to the Ukrainian music business and an innovation in the industry internationally.
Since 2009, Dakhovskyy has been a co-owner of the popular club "Sorry, Babushka" in Kyiv, which was the first to sign an agreement with the Ukrainian League of Copyright and Related Rights to pay royalties for music usage.
