Angela Chao is the Deputy Chairman of Foremost Group, an international shipping company in New York.[1][2]

Chao is the youngest sister of former Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao, and youngest daughter of Foremost Group founder Dr. James S.C. Chao.

Chao and three of her sisters attended Harvard Business School, the first four sisters in the history of the school to study there.[2] Chao's family donated $40 million to Harvard University and Harvard Business School in in 2012 in tribute to her departed mother, historian Ruth Mulan Chu Chao.[2]

Chao has served on multiple boards, including the New York City Economic Development Corporation, the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT), the Baltic and International Maritime Council (BIMCO), and the China State Shipbuilding Corporation.[3]

Private life[edit]

In 2009 Chao married investment banker and billionair businessman Bruce Wasserstein, who died unexpected later that year due to heartproblems.[4][5]
